What a week. Last time I got to write I was still in the MTC but that seems like years ago. My past few days I had to spend a lot of time in the front office because they were interviewing my companion, i believe they sent him home. I left for CO before they decided. It is too bad but he did it to himself. I was quite an adventure getting out to Colorado Springs. We woke up at 3am on monday to make it to airport. I slept on bus ride there which was nice, but woke to several faces staring at me. They though it was funny. I was very creeped out haha. When we got to Denver, our flight to Colorado Springs was CANCELED! So I spent the next 5 hours at the airport. It was a lot of fun, at one point i was carrying all the sisters bags, because i was raised as a gentleman :) and i looked rather funny. Someone took a photo of me, so i took it as an invitation. I went over and talked to him and had a nice time laugh at myself. He was a nice man and I gave him a pass along card and started to explain the church. I was excited because i was doing it! my first time meeting someone new! but when i started to talk to him about that, i found out he was LDS haha. It was a nice surprise. He commended me on my outgoing and easiness. It was a fun experience to learn from. When we finally made it to Colorado Springs, we had two days of training. It was just a lot of paper work and rules about being in the field.

On Wednesday I got my companion and embarked to my area. My Companion is Elder Benjamin Smith. A sweet guy from South Carolina. He has a strong accent and it scared me at first. It is cool meeting people with accents. My area is Sanford, CO and small town in the valley of south west colroado. There is a population of only 750 people! And 650 are practicing LDS. There are two sets of missions in the town so that leaves me about 50 people to work with. There hasnt been a baptism in my area for over two years. I plan on breaking that streak :) The town is mainly dirt roads with the one paved rode that leads into town. There are only 3 Buildings in the town, the Church, the post office, and the school. There is mud EVERYWHERE!!! I wear my boots all the time and my pants are covered in mud. I don't have a car so we bike or walk everywhere. I dont mind that at all but there are a lot of mean dogs in the town. My companion has been bitten twice so far here. I always carry a big stick or rocks so i can cash the dogs off. If you dont keep them back they attack. Just makes life more interesting i guess. I do love the town thought. You can hear nature out here and the stars at night are so stunning. I have gotten the sniffles since I have been in town but they will go away I am sure. It can get cold but everyone says i missed the snow, I am thankful for that. The clouds in the sky are so beautiful. they make the most marvelous art. The past two days the wind has picked up and I am not looking forward to that, makes it seem much colder. Everyone in this town has a canadian accent. It is really interesting to hear, i dont know why but they all do! Its fun at dinner to get to know the members more. I am slowly gaining weight. I will have to work out more in the mornings.

I am learning a lot and know I will continue to learn the more I am out here. Its so nice being able to read the scriptures each day. I have found so much peace and comfort can come from reading them. I love being able to just open my heart and grow.

My Adress for the next three months whilst I am in Sanford is:

Round 2

I am almost out of the MTC. I have been in here for almost 12 days and I fly to Colorado on monday! I cant believe it is finally here, I am nervous to head out into the field but I am sure it will be amazing just like the MTC is. I found out I am not able to talk to the sisters who are serving in my mission and thats a huge bummer because a lot of them have become good friends. It will be ok though because I will make so many firneds out in the field. I have grown so much in the MTC. I am so thankful I am a convert because that has been so helpful to work with the feelings that the people we teach go throught because i have felt them too. I have been getting better sleep the p[ast few nights because I moved beds. I am no longer over the kid who snoores so loud each night. I am also next to window so it is colder and i sleep better in the cold. I am rocking my classes and learning so much about myself and about our Savor. It has been such an amazing week and I lookforward to the many more amazing weeks I will have! Write me if you can, give me address so i can write you letters!

It's like I never left!

HEYYYYY EVERYONE! I told you that you would be hearing from me soon. note I don't have a lot of time to type so there will be miss spellings. I have my Personal days on Saturday when I am in the MTC so I get one already! Things have been so amazing here and I can't believe it has only been 3 and a half days. It feels like it I have learned so much since I have enter, and I have. I don't know where to begin so I will just work through my days.

I was dropped off by Clark and Michelle and to my surprise, all my fears and nervousness had left me. I couldn't stop smiling. There were so many new missionaries entering that it was quick goodbyes. I got my name tag moments after I enter, its pretty great. I think it's the best one out there but I may be bias :) I dropped off all my bags in my dorm and thats when I met my companion. UGHHHHHH The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful opportunity to learn patiance. His name is Paul Strager. I still don't know how to say his name. He is from Utah and is something else. He doesnt fallow any of the mission rules and when we are in class learning. He is either asleep or leaving class to get a drink of water, this is most annoying to me because I have to go with him to get water. Its ok though, I am trying my best to be the best I can be for him. In my District there are 6 of us Elders. 3 of us are going to Colorado and the others to Knottsville. My companion isnt coming to Colorado so thats nice :) The other two Elders who are coming to Colorado are awesome. I really like them and hope that I get paired with them someday in the field. Theres Elder Lenche and Elder Leggieri. They are also the other two in our dorm room. Its nice because they hang out with me when I have to deal with my companion. The other two elders are also going to knottsville but they are in the room next to ours. I really enjoy the group, well most of them.

In the MTC we learn a lot about reconigings the spirit and how to bring it into our lesions. I have only had one "investigator" so far and its a slow process. It is really hard to get him, excited about learning. Its also hard because my companion who is sposed to help me teach, DOESNT SAY A WORD! I have been having to do it all by myself. I will look at him and ask him things but he wont contribute. But it is giving me the great chance to focus on my teaching skills. Having to do it alone is hard and I am still a bad teacher, but it is good to work on it and all the feeb back the "investigator" gives is for me so its great to learn from. I look forward to being better at bringing the Spirit into lesions. I hope that I can truly help those I teach. In my Distric I have been made the District Leader. It just means I have to do some paper work on weekends and I get in trouble if my district does something wrong. But so far most if of them have been so great. I am so humbled that I got the calling to lead. Its been fun because I think i am an easy leader. Not that I let them slack off but i give them their opportunity to use their agency.

The food is awesome. I dont know why so many people complained about it, its soooo nice having all you can eat meals three times a day. I know it wont be like that in the feild so I am taking it in whist I can. Its fun to explore the cafiteria. There are so many different areas and I have always found hidden treats. I dont think I have gained any weight, but I havnt lost any. It has been so wonderful here in the MTC. I am going to miss being so close to so many other Elders and Sisters. I am very excited to be in the feild and to grown and learn. I know I will be doing that each day.

I love all of you so much. I hope things are going well. I will be in the MTC till the Monday after Next and then I head to Colorado. Stay strong and never lose hope! Also please send me your addresses so I can write you letters!
