Leaving Town

Hey everyone!

Its Elder Wyatt again, so if you are looking for Elder Smith, you are in the wrong area. I wish you the best of luck in your search. Any-who, another week has shot past and time just keeps ticking by. This past week was really fun, from mountains to a trip to Pueblo, I feel like I have done too much this past week to tell it all, but one must start somewhere so here we go. Off to Never-land!! oh, off to Flat Top!!

Flat top is a mountain just outside of Sanford. Last P-day we had the idea to go hike, we thought it would only be 30 minutes or so, well about two hours later and after we lost half the group to the pointy plants, also known as cactus who did not have much love for Elder Greer. very thankful i wore my boots. When we hit the top the view was unbeatable and i can not send all the photos i took, just to many but it was a ton of fun. I found a ram skull and we hung it on the wall. We finish with some snow cones after, great way to cool down after a long hike.

We had some great luck on Tuesday when we ran into Mayor Bailey and it turned into a great lesson with the who family. The mother cried for most of it and she recognized it as the spirit. Looks like things will continue to go up with them. We are meeting with them tomorrow and it will be my last lesson with them.

Gary Gardner sadly lost his date for baptism. He found out that if he were to join the LDS Church, he would lose his retirement from being a pastor of another faith and has informed us that he does not want to lose it. I was sad to see him choose money over blessings but I still love and support the man. I hope one day he might change his mind over the situation.

On Wednesday we traveled up to Pueblo for a big meeting. It was fun to see lots of friends I have not seen since the MTC. It was our last big even with President Anderson and we will be getting a new mission President in a few weeks. I am looking forward to meeting him and am sure he is the best man for the job. The Lord picked him after all!

I found out today that I will be transferred to Canon City 1st Ward up in Colorado Springs! I am excited to go out and explore something new. I will be in a little bigger city with less members and a car. So it will be a fun shift of what I am used to working with. I am thrilled to continue to meet new people and plan on making many friends along the way! Its always fun to make friends and I do not see any reason not to. I will be getting a new address and I will be sending that out next week to whom it may concern.

As always, I want to end on the note of my Testimony. I am so thankful for this Church and so thankful for our loving Heavenly Father. Like in times of old, we have a living Prophet and we still receive direct revelation from Heaven Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living Prophet of the Lord and if we fallow his leader ship, we will be fallowing the Living God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is lead today by Jesus Christ. I know that this is true because I have prayed and asked God if it was true and the Holy Ghost Testified of it to me.

I love you all very much and hope that everything continues to go up for you all. I am only ever an email or letter away. Know that I am always here if there is anything I can do. Find some flowers this week and smell them, especially the roses!

Love,
Elder Wyatt

A Whale of a Tail

Hello Again, and welcome to my blog;

Been a great week. I am getting a nice tan on my face and hands, I am wearing sun screen so do not worry. It was a great week in Sanford. Lots of fun little moments, no time to write them all out so lets focus on the big ones!

For Rev. Gary Gardner, we meet with him again. He is doing well and enjoying our meetings. He always has lots of questions which is nice but that man can talk. He will go on for a while and wont take a breath which makes it very hard to stop him but we have our tricks :) One funny thing when we taught him last. We related the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a ladder and after it all he told us how he saw it more of a bridge and not a ladder. It was funny because he was focusing on that and not the principles. We re did our drawing to a bridge and crossed that concern :) He still has a date to be baptized which is great. Transfers are next week however and there is a chance I will not be here for it. That's ok though, not the important part.

The Gibson family is a family whom we have met with my whole time here in Sanford and we helped them move last Wednesday, I do not know if I will see them again but I sure do hope they remember the messages we shared with them. Its up to them.

Debby Hamilton is someone who has progressed a long ways, and it is just our luck that she is trying to move too. Maybe its the fact that I am not in Sanford that scares everyone off. She hasn't left yet but it trying to sell the land and if she can they will be going. Until that time however, we will meet with her and do what we can to help her. I hope she continues to progress the way she has been, really been great to work with her.

Well, that's about all for the big news, I need to do some exciting things so I can write about it. Oh who am I kidding, the Gospel is the most exciting thing! I hope this update was pleasing to those who had read it. Ill be here next week, same time haha. I find out what transfers are next week so I may or may not be staying or going. Just like last time its not my call. A much wiser person picks that. Send letters and packages to mission office address just in-case I do not stay. (those address should be on my Facebook under profile picture, or even on the left side of my blog website! I do not remember what it looks like. I hope its nice!

To close, I want to share with all that I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true Church once again established on the earth in these latter-days. I know that we are lead by a living prophet who is lead by the living God. I am so thankful for this gospel and the wonderful effect it has had on my life. I know that as we place our trust in Him, He will never let us down. I love you all so much and wish the best for each of you this week.

Love.

Summer Loving

Hey Everyone,

It's little 'ol Elder Wyatt here. As always it was another amazing week. Two snow cone shacks have opened up in town (two shacks for 700 people) and I am going to try every flavor at least once. One of the dogs who always follows us around, Little Girl, was missing for a few weeks and when we finally saw her, she had 9 puppies! They are all so adorable and I just want to steal them all. The owner is trying to give them away so we are now also asking around for people who want a puppy. Things are always so great, It never seems to be bad when devoting my time and energy to the Lord. It has been such a spiritual uplifting experience these past few months and I look forward to the many more to come. I can not believe that it is already June. Time is just flying by. We had a great week for missionary work.

One of the investigators we have been teaching is really progressing. Gary Gardner is a retired Reverend from the Presbyterian faith and has come a long way from when we first meet him. The first day I met him he wanted to bash, but now that we have had the opportunity to really sit down and chat, he really opened up to our message. We focused on the basics as we taught and with simple testimonies, a lot of power comes. One of his best friends is a on the stake counsel and came to join us during our lesson. When we called him he could not believe that we were teaching Gary. It was funny to see his surprise. Brother Gardner has since come to church twice and now has a date to be baptized in two weeks. As long as everything continues to go the way it is going, we will have a great day to look forward to!

We had the opportunity to go and help out at youth conference this past Friday. It was the first one I have been able to attend and I went as a missionary :) We got to teach a lot and help out at the activities. It was really fun to just be an example for those around us. One of the games they had set up involved the giant hamster balls... I had to give it a shot and it was a ball! :) It was something I have always wanted to do and was excited that I got to finally check it off my list. We got to teach a lot too and it was so neat to see those who were excited about going out and sharing the same messages with their friends who could not make it or who were not LDS.

That is just about all the big things that happened this week. Always a ton of little things that strengthen my testimony each week. I have really enjoyed my time making new friends and am so excited to continue to make even more each day. From getting a gas tank off of a car to helping paint a house, there are always ways to help those around you. I would invite everyone this week to try and provide one act of kindness for someone else. It may be as simple as holding the door open for others, but I know that Heavenly Father often answers prayers through the actions of another person. Follow the promptings the Holy Spirit gives and continue to smile. Life is just too darn short to not see the light in things. There is always something to be grateful for, even our trials.

The Sky Is Blue!

Hey everyone!

Last p-day after emails we went to a lake as a zone. It was a ton of fun. We set up a fire pit and roasted some hot dogs and some of the sisters made us peach cobbler in a crock-pot. It was so yummy. I got to clean the pot :) I am now gaining weight and it is very weird for me. I have spent a long time of my life making sure I did not gain too much and now I do not have to. I have a weird mentality however and have decided to start eating healthy again as to keep my body the way I like it. When at the shore of the lake a missionary taught me how to play "I'm Yours" on the ukulele. (<- that was hard to spell, my Hawaiian friend helped me:) ) We played capture the flag and had a really nice time. I got some good sun but I wore sunscreen so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I even got the back of my ears :) We drove home after a nice day off.

We had a ton of great lessons this week. We have been seeing some great things happen in Sanford and it has been very exciting to head out each morning. One of the best things we have seen is with one of our investigators, whom was very anger at us the first time we met her and now she is ready to take the next steps to fallow Christ. It is so neat to have seen her progression and things look like they will  be moving forward over these next few weeks.

With one of the investigators we have been teaching, we have been able to teach his family now too and some are excited while others are not as eager to hear from us but the father always invites us to come back. The daughter is the most interested and the father told her during a lesson to be baptized. She wanted some time but I have faith that it will all work out. :)

We helped a family move and it was really funny how we stacked it all in the trailer. It was like a big game of tetris. We got to work with our whole district and that was a lot of fun, the family made us lunch. I did not love the food, it was too spicy. that's okay, I am training my body to put up with spicy. We got to ride in a police car that day for a ride home. Sanford is like no where else :)

It was a week with great weather and lots of little miracles. Every day it is confirmed to me more that Heavenly Father answers prayers. It is such a blessing being able to serve Him each and everyday. I know that everything works out so long as we have faith in Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for all that I have and will continue to try my bet each day. Have an amazing week and never lose the faith!
